Deep South Soundscape

In terms of music in the Deep South, the Blues define the region. The sound emanates from the people of the Mississippi River Delta where the ghosts of slavery haunt the cotton fields. The blues were songs of enslaved Africans and gospel hymns expressed through heartfelt moan and guitar.
